Washington, D.C.: Monuments and Memorials
September 18, 2013 | Departure: 7:15 am VHS members: $119. Enrollment limited.
NON REFUNDABLE
Washington's monuments and memorials are a tribute to those who have made immeasurable contributions to the country that we live in today. Some by making the ultimate sacrifice. Others by providing the necessary leadership. The monuments and memorials tell more than the story of individuals. They tell the story of our nation and something of our nation's character in its response to the events that have shaped our country. The development of each monument and memorial is reflection of our perspective of our wars and leaders.
A step-on guide will lead our visit to the memorials honoring World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Veterans; Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Martin Luther King.
Bus trips are members-only events. For more information, call 804.342.9676, or email cmoore@vahistorical.org
